Since 1970, Hickory Park has been the place to go for sandwiches, barbecue and ice cream in Ames. Starting with a seating capacity of 80, David Wheelock’s ambition and know-how outgrew the space in 1981, and they moved to a location that could seat 240. Hickory Park has been in its current location since 1997, can seat 450 guests at a time ,and employs over 250 staff. Serving over 20,000 lbs of meat to an average of 16,000 guests per week, Hickory Park is the largest restaurant in Iowa. Hickory Park joined the BCP Family in 2019.
