Country Bancorporation began with the acquisition of People’s Savings Bank in 1966. Country Bancorporation is a bank holding company that holds the ownership of the following subsidiary banks:
The Exchange State Bank was established in 1878 and is the only financial institution in the communities of Springville and Martelle, Iowa.
Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank, chartered in 1901, operates from offices in Iowa City, Lone Tree, and Nichols.
Hiawatha Bank & Trust Company opened in 1997, is located in Hiawatha, Iowa and operates a branch in Center Point, Iowa.
Peoples Savings Bank was founded in 1912 in Crawfordsville, Iowa and is currently the only bank in the community. A branch office is also operated in Wayland, Iowa.
Peoples Trust & Savings Bank was established in Riverside, Iowa in 1928 and is currently the only bank in the community.
Walker State Bank was established in Walker, Iowa in 1946 and is currently the only bank in the community.
White State Bank has been in operation since 1908. Operating as the only bank in the community of South English, Iowa, it provides the Company a presence in Keokuk County.
