Professional Background and Achievements

In my career spanning over 19 years in finance and accounting, I have accumulated a wealth of experience across various industries, including public accounting, higher education, agriculture, and retail. I have held key roles as a CFO in multiple organizations within these sectors, specializing in financial strategies, acquisitions, and complex transactions such as a Brazilian debt-structured transaction and venture capital investments. I am an active CPA in Iowa—number O15452. I am also a member of the Iowa Society of CPAs and AICPA.

When did I start working for BCP and what positions have I held?

I began working at Bernau Capital Partners in March 2023. I direct financial activities, prepare reports and forecasts, analyze acquisitions, and manage accounting, audit, tax, finance, and reporting for all businesses under the Bernau Capital umbrella.

Thoughts on the Company?

Joining Bernau Capital Partners (BCP) has been a fulfilling journey grounded in its diverse portfolio and strong cultural values. BCP spans retail, real estate, manufacturing, banking, and more, fostering a dynamic work environment under the leadership and guidance of its founder, Tom Bernau. What attracted me most is its expansive business scope and commitment to operational excellence, growth mindset, and inclusivity.
My favorite aspect of working here is collaborating closely with our leadership team and business operators, contributing to strategic decision-making. Most importantly, it’s just a fun place to work with great people! Mark Twain said it best when he said, “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life,” that is what I have found at BCP.

Married to Jenn since 2005, with two boys, Mitchell and Landon.  In addition, we have a family dog named Duke.

Fun Fact
