Melinda Grask
Executive Assistant to Tom BernauEducation
BA in Accounting from Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa.
Professional Background and Achievements
My biggest achievement is that I stayed at home to raise my great kids for the first half of their lives. I entered the workforce as an executive assistant because I had become really good at handling multiple schedules, responding to a fast pace of requests, solving a wide range of issues, reviewing financial documents, and knowing when a personnel situation calls for a firm response or maybe just a snack and a nap.
When did I start working for BCP and what positions have I held?
I began work at BCP April of 2018 as Tom’s EA. I have continued to grow in that role by supporting the entire family of Bernau Capital Partners businesses with accounting help, fleet management, workers compensation, and anything else that needs to be done.
What was the last job I had before coming to work for BCP?
EA for 3 executives in the Principal Advisor Network.
What is my specific role at BCP beyond my job title?
I have been called a rare, natural leader that focuses on the small details – AKA Micro Manager.
Family
I love my three kids and my golden retriever, usually in that order.
Hobbies
Any activity that takes place outside from paddle boarding to downhill skiing. I love to cook and I especially love to bake. Huge Red Sox fan.
Fun Fact
Thanks to Bagley my golden retriever and undisputed office dog, BCP is a dog-friendly workplace.
