My career has included private law practice, municipal practice, counsel for a physician owned hospital developer, founder and CEO of a recycled building materials startup and sales VP of a global nutritional ingredient manufacturer. I have been practicing law for about 30 years but apparently can’t hold a single job for more than 5.
When did I start working for BCP and what positions have I held?
I became BCP’s first in-house lawyer (besides Tom) in January 2022
What was the last job I had before coming to work for BCP?
I worked as part-time general counsel for a number of companies including 4ocean Public Benefit Corporation. I was also founder and CEO of GW Nutrition, Inc.
What is my specific role at BCP beyond my job title?
I handle transactional legal work for Aterra, Arona and Ivy Lane on a daily basis, I support the other companies as needed. I participate in business and legal strategy, create policies that anticipate potential legal issues, and I work on special projects of interest such as helping our IT guru transition to the cloud.
My wife Christine Branstad leads a criminal defense law firm in Des Moines. We have kids in college at University of Iowa and Whitman College. We have family in Iowa and California.
I enjoy all types of outdoor recreation including snow skiing, biking, travel and cooking.
I ran with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain in 1988.
